DeGraff Memorial Hospital’s SNF Earns High Marks

DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility

The Skilled Nursing Facility at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda was recently ranked among “America’s Best Nursing Homes” by US News & World Report.  The “America’s Best Nursing Homes” designation is an honor awarded to 173 of 15,500 skilled nursing programs nationwide.  Locally, DeGraff’s SNF, which has 60 long-term care and 20 acute rehabilitation beds, was one of two named in Western New York and 10 in New York State.

“Our loved ones deserve top-notch care through every cycle of life, illness and injury,” said James R. Kaskie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kaleida Health.  “We’ve always known that DeGraff provides the long-term and rehabilitative care that makes it a leader in the community.  Now the nation is aware of it as well.  I could not be more proud.”

The U.S. News rankings rely on Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  CMS, as it is known, analyzes information on all homes enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid and rates them one to five stars overall and in health inspections, nurse staffing and measures of care.  The CMS Five-Star rating system and U.S. News and World Report’s “America’s Best Nursing Home Honor Role" assists consumers, their families and caregivers in reviewing and comparing nursing homes providing a snapshot of a program’s quality of care and services.  Congratulations DeGraff staff and volunteers!
