Munschauer Portrait

Steven L. Dubovsky, M.D.
Dr. Dubovsky is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo and adjoint Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of Colorado. His research is in the areas of intracellular signaling in mood disorders, the pathophysiology of psychiatric illness, development of new treatments, and interactions between medical and psychiatric illnesses. He has published over 200 journal articles, chapters and books and he has lectured internationally on a variety of topics. His most recent book (with Amelia N. Dubovsky) is Prescriber’s Survival Guide: Ethical Prescribing in the Era of Big Pharma, published by W.W. Norton.

Dr. Dubovsky maintains an active clinical practice devoted to mood disorders, complex and difficult clinical problems, and consultation to psychiatrists, other physicians and other mental health professionals. He receives referrals from around the world on refractory psychiatric illnesses. He teaches students, residents and practitioners in all specialties and regularly conducts educational programs for patient and advocacy groups.

In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Dubovsky is an active interior firefighter with the Eggertsville Hose Company.


Michael Cummings, M.D.
Dr. Michael R. Cummings is Director of the Division of Community Psychiatry, in the Department of Psychiatry, SUNY at Buffalo; Medical director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mid-Erie Counseling and Treatment Services. He was formerly the Medical Director of the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Erie County Medical Center. Dr. Cummings has clinical and administrative oversight of adolescent and adult forensic care within much of Erie County, oversight of high-needs children and adults within community mental health centers and the psychiatric emergency room, and responsibility for teaching and supervising clinicians within these settings. Dr. Cummings studied nutritional sciences at Cornell University as an undergraduate, and completed medical school and residencies in psychiatry and child psychiatry at SUNY at Buffalo. 


Dori Marshall, M.D.
Dr. Dori R. Marshall is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Buffalo, and works at Erie County Medical Center as the Medical Director of the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, where, in addition to clinical care, she supervises and teaches medical students and residents. She has also worked part time for the past three years with a college age population as the psychiatrist for Buffalo State College. She is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo undergraduate and medical schools.
