Cardiovascular disease is the leading
cause of death in women. One in
two women in the Buffalo Niagara area will die from cardiovascular disease.
This disease is preventable. It is important women know the signs and symptoms
of cardiovascular disease as well as the risk factors. High blood pressure, high
cholesterol, smoking, family history of coronary artery disease, diabetes, obesity,
and that of being postmenopausal are all risk factors or women. It is very important
that women understand these risk factors and talk to their doctor about them
in order to prevent cardiovascular disease. We will discuss the current
recommendations for control of high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.
We will also talk about appropriate exercise and diet for prevention.
Seating is limited. Register online (see form on left) or call the Foundation office at (716) 881-8260.
